hello, Scotland!

26.07.2003

We've been teletransported to Aberdeen by a cargo from the compagny"SEATRANS", the 100 meters long SC ABERDEEN , a free lift, with the meals at the officers table, a room for each of us....
Of course it is a bit small of us, but it made us reached Scotland alive. We did'nt stay long in Aberdeen, just time to wait for the shops open and take the sea to Peterhead, with a good wind. We just arrived there when the Harbour officer welcome;s us and ask us ten pounds for the night. When the crowedaround see us about to leave again, one of them offrered to pay the fee for us and , the next morning gives us sandwitcghes, teas and some more money...
If you ear one of those lyers who tells that the Scots are close- pursed, please cut their tongues.
We left then, to Fraserburgh, where we stopped even still early and good wind, but the waves who was about one meter all days seems to increase, and gives us the record speed of 9.5 knots once!
we have to say that the ssea in Scotland is a bit more dangerous than the norwegian coast and we are not in the north...
that why we change the plan and are trying now to go trough the Caledonian canal, a much safer way.
the sea is more quiet in the "firth" and we reached Findhorn easily.
There is the first "new age" settlement, since 40 years, people are meditating, growing organic plants and making many other things.
Causae of aa too strong wind in the wrong direction, we hitchike to Foress, to play a bit and we met a dutch guy who travelled a lot making music around europe, he drove us to Inverness, where we played a little and he took us back to findhorn and give us a guided trip into the foundation where he worked a bit earlier.
We left in what we tougth was no wind and witch turn quikly into strong opposite wind, making us row for a long day of 27 miles to reach Inverness in the late evening with waves and currents against us.
The plans now are, making enough money to afford the canal, sail down the loch ness, say hello to nessie, go north to the western isles, and the down again to the green erin.
Enjoy the sunny summer for those who live in the right places and forr the other many sunny smile frrom both of us.
